Turlock High School NJROTC cadets trained on the proper use of a fire hose during an instructional session with the Turlock Fire Department- Engine 33 this week. In the Navy all personnel aboard a ship must participate in firefighting training and drills and in boot camp a heavy emphasis is placed on disaster response training. The cadets also practiced Navy boot camp exercises.
Stanislaus State ranked among nation’s best colleges

Stanislaus State’s Academic Senate voted in favor of a bill that would require students enrolled in all 23 California State University campuses to take one 3-credit unit of any qualifying Ethnic Studies course before they graduate (Journal file photo).
