The Carnegie Arts Center will be hosting a music concert and an art opening in the coming week.

A jazz show is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and the opening reception for the pastel exhibition will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The Carnegie will welcome a lineup of all-star jazz musicians from throughout the San Joaquin Central Valley and beyond for the Central Valley Jazz All-Star show.

Admission for the show is $10 and $5 for Carnegie Arts Center members and students with valid identification. Tickets will be available at the door.

The opening reception for The Fine Art of Pastels exhibition will feature creations in soft pastels, oil pastels and some mixed media pieces. The juried exhibit features more than 70 works from artists in the region and beyond.

The opening reception is free and open to the public.

The Carnegie Arts Center is located at 250 N. Broadway.
