City of Turlock restricts outdoor watering to one day per week
conservation corner pic

The City of Turlock winter watering schedule is now in effect through Feb. 28. This schedule restricts outdoor watering to one day per week. Even numbered addresses can only water on Saturday and odd numbered addresses can only water on Sunday. Watering is also prohibited between the hours of noon and 6 p.m.

Water conservation should not stop during the fall and winter months. Considering the largest use of water (approximately 60%) is used for outdoor landscape irrigation, it is recommended residents turn off their irrigation systems completely during the winter season, or at least limit watering to trees only. Landscape watering should be reduced considerably, or stopped all together, during fall and winter due to plant dormancy, cooler weather, and shorter days. WATER CONSERVATION TIP #30

Insulate your water pipes: It's easy and inexpensive to insulate your water pipes with pre-slit foam pipe insulation. You'll get hot water faster plus avoid wasting water while it heats up.
