Those wishing to see His Holiness Pope Francis of the Holy See during his trip to Washington, D.C. in September can enter a lottery to obtain tickets from Congressman Jeff Denham.

Pope Francis is scheduled to address the U.S. Congress on Sep. 24, and then make a brief public appearance on the steps of the U.S. Capitol facing the West Lawn. A limited number of tickets were made available to each member of Congress to distribute to his or her constituents.

Denham will accept requests for tickets until 5 p.m. Sept. 4, for the lottery to receive standing-room admission to the West Lawn during the simulcast of Pope Francis' address. Ticket holders are responsible for their own transportation to and from Washington, D.C., lodging and other trip expenses.

Tickets may not be sold or given away and are only available for residents of California's 10th district.
