Saturday is Take Pride in Turlock Day with free disposal for City residents. - photo by Contributed

Take Pride in Turlock, the City of Turlock’s annual free disposal event, will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, however, vehicles arriving after 12:45pm will not be allowed entry. The event will be held at Turlock Scavenger, located at 1100 S. Walnut Rd.

To take advantage of this free trash disposal day opportunity, you must provide your April 2018 City of Turlock utility bill (TID, PG&E or phone bills DO NOT qualify), and a picture ID with a Turlock address.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS: 

·         No more than one load of household debris per current utility bill.

·         No vehicle loads larger than a pick-up truck will be accepted.

·         No more than nine tires per load, with or without rim.

·         No sealed gas cylinders (propane, oxygen, etc.).

·         No treated wood.

·         No tires from tire generating businesses will be accepted.

Turlock Recycling will be open throughout the duration of the event for beverage container recycling reimbursement at 1020 S. Walnut Rd.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE MOBILE COLLECTION EVENT

Stanislaus County Department of Environmental Resources will be accepting Household Hazardous Waste from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 901 S. Walnut Rd. Stanislaus County also has a facility open every weekend that accepts hazardous waste from county residents. This collection is free of charge and provides an alternative to illegal dumping of hazardous waste.

Landscape watering schedule: Effective through Oct. 31, even numbered homes may water on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and odd numbered homes may water Wednesdays and Sundays. Allowed watering times are before 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m.
