The Great Valley Museum
The Great Valley Museum at Modesto Junior College will hold a Science Night at the Museum event from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday.

Science Night at the Museum: The Great Valley Museum at Modesto Junior College will hold a Science Night at the Museum from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday. Free rooftop telescope viewing will provided by MJC Astronomy Club starting after dark . As always, there are many other free, engaging science learning opportunities.

Coin & Collectible Show: The 2nd annual Central Valley Coin & Collectible Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Stanislaus County Veterans Hall, 3500 Coffee Rd., Modesto. Admission is $5 for both days.

Coffee & Cartoons: The State Theatre’s next showing in its Donuts, Coffee and Cartoons series will be “Toy Story 2” at 10 a.m. Saturday. Andy heads off to Cowboy Camp, leaving his toys to their own devices. Things shift into high gear when an obsessive toy collector named Al McWhiggen, owner of Al’s Toy Barn kidnaps Woody. For tickets, visit thestate.org.

Cambodian Experience: The opening ceremony for the Haggin Museum’s Cambodian Experience exhibit will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. This vibrant event will feature traditional Cambodian dance and mark the opening of a powerful exhibition that honors and preserves the stories of survival, resilience, and hope that define the Cambodian American experience.

Modesto Skates: The Modesto Skates group will once again host a public skate night from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday at Johansen High School’s tennis courts, 641 Norseman Dr. in Modesto.
