The 2025 Relay for Life of the Greater Central Valley to benefit the American Cancer Society will be held starting at 9 a.m. May 17 and run through 10 a.m. May 18 at Johansen High School.

Relay for Life: The 2025 Relay for Life of the Greater Central Valley to benefit the American Cancer Society will be held starting at 9 a.m. May 17 and run through 10 a.m. May 18 at Johansen High School, 641 Norseman Dr., Modesto. This year’s event has a carnival theme and will include games, carnival treats and fun. The event will start with a celebration of survivors and caregivers and then a luminaria to remember those lost to cancer.

Putnam County Spelling Bee: The Gallo Center Repertory Company will present “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” based on the Tony and Drama Desk award-winning book. Shows will be held 7 p.m. May 16 and 2 p.m. May 17 and 18. For tickets, visit galloarts.org or call 209-338-2100.

Pool Grand Reopening: The Columbia Pool in Turlock will have a grand reopening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. May 17. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, family-friendly activities and free public swim. The park is located at 595 High St.

Pride Picnic: MoPride will host a Pride Picnic from 12 noon to 4 p.m. May 17 at Graceada Park, 401 Needham St. in Modesto. The event will include a health fair, small business vendors and free activities for the whole family.
