Community invited to lighting of Homicide Victims’ Memorial Tree
candlelight vigil

The District Attorney’s Office’s Victim Services Program will sponsor the 27th Annual Lighting of the Homicide Victims’ Memorial Tree & Candlelight Vigil at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The ceremony will be held on the Courthouse Lawn located at 1100 I St., Modesto. Opening remarks will be made by District Attorney Jeff Laugero, followed by Erin Nelson, founding Executive Director of Jessica’s House, and DaShaun Winston, Executive Board President of Crime Stoppers. Special music will be provided by Ruthanne Castro and Tanya DelaPuente.

Friends and family of homicide victims are invited to attend and bring a non-breakable ornament to hang on the tree in remembrance of their loved ones who are not with us to celebrate the holiday season due to the criminal acts of others.

In case of rain, the program will be moved to the covered parking garage at 832 12th St., across from the courthouse.
