Deputies win medals at annual competition

Two Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies earned medals at the recently held United States Police and Fire Championships, organized by the California Police Athletic Foundation.

Deputy Terry Johnson, a multi-year competitor, received gold medals in the 800 meter dash, 1500 meter dash, the 4X100 meter relay and the 4X400 meter relay. In his competitive career with the Police and Fire Championships, Deputy Johnson has been awarded 32 gold medals, 12 silver medal and nine bronze medals for track and field competitions.

Deputy Pedro Beltran was awarded a silver medal in submission grappling.

“We’re very proud of our team and recognize them for their accomplishments,” said Sheriff Adam Christianson.
