History of business: For six years, Lori Pacheco has worked as a skin care specialist at salons and spas across Turlock.

But this year the licensed esthetician decided to go her own way, opening E Main Skin & Body, just north of downtown Turlock.

It was the quaint location which inspired Pacheco to strike out on her own, nestled between medical offices and private homes.

“I saw this place and thought, oh, what a great place,” Pacheco said.

Pacheco decided to make her dream a reality, overhauling the office before opening on Aug. 1. The space boasts large windows and has been decorated in calming tones, with subtle scents of lavender and peppermint and a soothing fountain.

“It’s a place to relax and restore yourself,” Pacheco said.

The small business owner is embracing her newfound role, and enjoying the chance to give back to the community. This holiday season, Pacheco is collecting arts and craft supplies for Jessica’s House, a local place for grieving children, teens, and families. Those who donate will receive a $10 spa voucher in exchange.

Business specialty: Pacheco brings her expertise in skin care to the business, offering a range of facials customized to each client’s unique needs. Teens can receive a facial which reduces acne, while those with dry or flaky skin would see an entirely different treatment.

“My philosophy on skin care is we’re going to age, so age the best you can,” Pacheco said.

Pacheco also offers waxing and hydrodermabrasion, which she describes as a more gentle form of microdermabrasion.

Melissa Paul, a massage therapist with four years of experience, offers deep tissue, Swedish, and hot stone massages.

E Main will also soon offer manicures and pedicures, in a secluded one-on-one setting.

Pacheco says she prides herself on the quality of customer service, and the top-quality skin care and massages her customers receive.
