Fire at golf club

A fire at the Stevinson Ranch Golf Club early Thursday morning caused an estimated $1 million in damage, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire was alerted to the fire shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday by the golf club’s alarm service. The club is located at 2700 Van Clief Road.

The fire originated in the kitchen and spread through the pro shop. Along with significant structural damage, the fire destroyed food product and golf equipment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
