After 30 years of fighting fires and leading the city’s fire agency, Turlock City Fire Chief Mark Langley is calling it a day.

Langley is retiring from his position as chief of fire services, effective July 1.

“He’s a great firefighter and a dedicated public servant,” said City Manager Roy Wasden. “We owe him our deep gratitude for the service he has done for this city.”

The city is looking at various options in regards to the fire chief position, Wasden said. Until a final decision is made Fire Division Chief Tim Lohman will serve as the interim fire chief.
