Fire displaces five from Turlock home

A garage fire that spread to the interior of a Turlock home caused enough damage to displace a family of five and sent one person to a local trauma facility with injuries from the fire, the Turlock Fire Department reported.

The fire was reported at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 4100 block of Ivory Lane.

The first firefighters to arrive at the home found heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage and extending into the interior of the home and second floor of the residence.

The fire brought out a significant response, including an additional engine, a quint and one battalion chief from other agencies. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes and crews worked for an extended period of time conducting overhaul of the fire building.
