Candy lovers and costume enthusiasts can rejoice as a number of Halloween-themed events are on tap in Turlock, Hilmar and Hughson. Here is a list of where you can satisfy your sweet tooth and embrace the season of spook in the coming weeks.

 

Saturday, Oct. 21

 

Turlock Church of Christ Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat

 

Fall fun will be aplenty at the Turlock Church of Christ on 801 N. Tully Rd. as they are set to host their annual Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., community members are encouraged to come in their best costumes (no scary or indecent costumes) and enjoy an evening of games, hayrides, snacks and hot dogs, cotton candy and more.

 

Friday, Oct. 27

 

City of Hughson and Hughson Police Services Trunk or Tent and Treat 

 

The city of Hughson and Hughson Police Services are hosting its 10th annual Trunk or Tent and Treat event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Children and adults are encouraged to come to downtown’s Hughson Avenue dressed in costume. Those who want to participate in the Hughson event are asked to visit www.hughson.org for a registration form which has a direct link.

 

Saturday, Oct. 28 

 

Downtown Turlock Trick or Treat 

 

The Downtown Turlock Business Owners Committee, Alegria Performing Arts Academy and HeyTurlock! are joining forces once more to bring the annual Downtown Turlock Trick or Treat event. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and coinciding with the Turlock Certified Farmers Market, families are encouraged to dress up and visit shops in downtown Turlock for deals and tons of free candy for the kiddos.

 

Sunday, Oct. 29

 

First United Methodist Church Trunk or Treat 

 

All are welcome to the First United Methodist Church at 1660 Arbor Way in Turlock as they host their annual Trunk or Treat in the church parking lot. There will be games, popcorn and of course candy, as decorated cars will fill the parking lot. Attendees will also be treated to music from the church’s new Ignite Band.The event runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is free of charge.

 

Monday Oct. 30

 

Hilmar’s Trick or Treat with Daisy

 

The Hilmar Cheese Visitor Center and mascot Daisy the Cow encourage families to bring their best costumes from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Those dressed up can take a photo with Daisy and will receive a special surprise from Hilmar’s favorite cow.

 

Tuesday, Oct. 31 

 

K-9s on the Move Trunk or Treat 

 

Get ready for a howlingly good time at the second annual Trunk or Treat by the K-9s on the Move pet daycare on 1001 S. Berkeley Ave. in Turlock. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m on Halloween night. Both humans and dogs are encouraged to dress up and enjoy Halloween-themed games and activities, including a family-friendly movie. In the parking lot, there will be a variety of cars decorated in Halloween themes, with their trunks open and filled with yummy treats. Meanwhile, furry friends can enjoy a dog-friendly area with special treats and activities just for them.

 

Hilmar Covenant Church’s Trunk or Treat


The Hilmar Covenant Church at 20056 American Ave. will be holding a Trunk or Treat from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Halloween night. Decorated vehicles will be handing out candy to visitors throughout the night. Vehicles are still being accepted, with those interested encouraged to register at www.hilmarcovenant.org.
