Janene Temple, owner of Inspirations Salon, is enjoying the new view from her business’ recent relocation. At the salon’s previous location, stylists were subjected to the rumbling of trains making their way down the tracks right across the street. Now, Temple and the rest of her staff enjoy the hustle and bustle of downtown Turlock, resulting in more clients and a spacious venue.
“This building has caught my attention since they first built it in 2001, and I’ve always loved it,” said Temple. “I never thought I’d be here.”
Temple first operated a salon in Stevinson before opening the salon’s last location on Hawkeye Avenue. Her latest move to downtown Turlock comes from a desire for change, she said, as well as curiosity about the experience of being in downtown Turlock. With its high ceilings and large windows, Inspirations Salon’s new location on Main Street is large and welcoming – something that Temple says has helped business immensely.
“We can’t keep up,” said Temple. “We have way more exposure here and see a lot more walk-ins.”
Inspirations is a full service salon, offering haircuts and colors, makeup applications, nail services, massages and spray tanning. The salon also has an esthetician on site, who offers facials and waxing. New to the salon on July 1 will be a permanent makeup artist who specializes in soft tap application. Soft tap permanent makeup application is relatively safer than other permanent makeup methods, said Temple.
The salon is also home to a boutique, which carries a variety of handbags that can only be found at Inspirations, such as the brand Hobo. Exclusive hairline products are also sold at the salon, and Inspirations also provides services for special events, such as weddings or proms.
