As Motors on Main revs up for its third year, there are lots of numbers running through organizer’s Bernie Mederios’ head. The most important one is $30,000.

That is the fund raising goal she has set for this year and hopes to present to Jessica’s House in Turlock.

“We’ve done $60,000 to date so I really want to keep the streak going,” Mederios said. “That is our mission.”

The third annual Motors on Main, the Victor Medeiros Memorial Car and Motorcycle show will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27 on 5th Avenue in Gustine. Registration for the vehicles in the car show is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the car show is from noon to 5 p.m. Registration is $50 and admission for attendees is free.

“The car show is gaining in reputation and we are seeing more and more sign-up,” Mederios said. “If the weather is good, I think we will probably exceed 170 cars.”

Motors on Main began under the guidance of Bernie Medeiros and her family. It was done to honor her late husband Victor Medeiros who passed in 2020 from a heart attack. Victor was a big fan of classic cars and motorcycles and Bernie felt the event was a perfect way to honor him. Especially since the proceeds are donated to Jessica’s House in Turlock.  Jessica’s House provides the wider community with support in a safe place for grieving children, teens, young adults, and their families.

In addition to the car show, DJ Dan will be spinning tunes in the morning and hosting a photo booth. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Makin’ Noise out of Turlock will be performing live classic rock music.

The event kicks off with the national anthem and a fly-over at noon.

The awards and trophies will be handed out at the end of the car show.

There will also be a raffle with gifts like Giants tickets, a television and gift baskets of all sorts.

The event does have a liquor license, so guests will be able to purchase beer, wine and cocktails at one of the liquor establishments downtown and walk around the car show with it.

There will be several food trucks offering, barbeque, gourmet hot dogs, Mexican food, frozen yogurt and shaved ice, among other treats.
