New downtown eatery donates $8,500 to local athletic programs

The opening of Hauck's earlier this month generated a lot of buzz from Turlockers excited to see the historic downtown building and one-time pharmacy repurposed into a bar and grill — and it also generated donations for local athletic programs. Hauck's opened its doors to hungry Turlockers May 10, 11 and 12 for a soft opening, before the restaurant's grand opening on May 13. During the soft opening, all items on the menu were offered for a $10 donation.

A recurring theme at the opening night of the 2025 Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock — the 107th edition of the annual event — was the heat. Sure, it's not 108 degrees like last year, but 102 on Friday afternoon wasn't too far off.
