CHP

A Turlock resident lost her life early Saturday morning in a single vehicle collision near Ballico, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The woman was identified as Manuela Sosa Rangel, 65, of Turlock.

Rangel had been driving a 2003 Honda Accord eastbound on East Avenue, west of Hall Road, when for an unknown reason the vehicle veered off the north shoulder, according to the CHP.

The vehicle flipped over multiple times before coming to a rest on its roof in a field.

The accident scene was discovered shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday by the owner of the property. Investigators believe the accident had happened earlier, possibly up to three hours before it was discovered.

Rangel was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
