The Turlock City Employees Association put their charitable funds to good use on Wednesday, helping both first responders and healthcare workers. The union purchased 70 meals from the Denair Firefighters’ drive-through fundraiser and then delivered them to Emanuel Medical Center to fuel healthcare workers.

“What a better way to help some of the first responders… and then also the medical staff at our local hospital,” said TCEA president Mike Murphy.

TCEA joins other local businesses and organizations who have donated meals and treats to Emanuel medical workers. Sunrise Bakery, Jura’s Pizza, Second Harvest Food Bank, Main Street Footers, Scott Davis Auto Sales, Wing Stop, See’s Candies and Starbucks have all showed their appreciation through donations, according to Tenet Healthcare communications manager Krista Deans.
