Fire crews responded to a large structure fire in the 300 block of S. Soderquist Road on Sunday, bringing the flames under control within an hour and preventing damage to nearby homes.
The fire was reported at approximately 9:01 p.m., with first-arriving units encountering heavy flames throughout the residence, threatening two adjacent properties. Due to the advanced fire conditions, a second alarm was issued, bringing in additional resources, including three engines, a truck, medic unit, and battalion chief through mutual aid agreements.
Firefighters worked aggressively to contain the blaze and successfully stopped it from spreading. After about an hour of suppression efforts, crews declared the fire under control. The residence was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported.
Crews remained at the scene for an extended period, conducting overhaul operations to ensure any remaining hot spots were extinguished. The Stanislaus County Fire Investigation Unit has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Officials urge anyone with relevant information to contact the unit at 209-525-5537.
