Season opens for Turlock theatre

The Turlock Community Theatre has announced the line-up for the 2011-12 season and started selling tickets.

The season’s shows include headliners in both rock and roll and country music, a famous magical act, and a Broadway musical.

The theatre has eight shows scheduled for the season, beginning with comedy and magic duo Penn and Teller on Sept. 23. Additional shows are: Lindsey Buckingham on Oct. 18; Jackson Browne on Nov. 11; Wynonna on Nov. 12; Manhattan Transfer will perform a Christmas show on Dec. 21; the musical “Damn Yankees” will be staged Feb. 16; musical revue “In the Mood” is set for March 8; and singer Michael Cavanaugh closes the season with a show on March 23.

“We’re hoping that we have put together a good variety for everybody,” said theatre manager Kit Casey.
