Almeda R. Shea
February 1940 April 2011
Almeda Shea, 71, of Modesto, passed away at home surrounded by her family. Almeda was born in Rush Springs, Okla. to Theodore and Lorene Payne. She and her family relocated to California during the Dust Bowl period in 1942. She spent her childhood and grammar school years in Orange Cove, then moving to Visalia where she spent her high school years. In 1957, Almeda was married and settled in to start her family with the birth of her first child; the second would follow in 1959.
Almeda was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother; she was a caretaker at heart. She had an unwavering faith in God, and was a faithful member of the Olympic Southern Baptist Church in Modesto for more than 25 years. Aside from her family and church, Almeda took pleasure in reading, crossword puzzles, traveling road trips and camping.

Shea of Modesto and Alameda Bartlett of Modesto; grandchildren, Kristy Tucker and Juliana Shea, both of Modesto, Michael Shea of Oakland, and Randy Bartlett, Andy Bartlett, Jeremy Bartlett and Jennifer Bartlett all of Ceres; great grandchildren, Hannah Bartlett, Madison Bartlett and Jaden Bartlett, all of Ceres, and Charlotte Tucker of  Modesto; and three sisters. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
