Bernice Rita (Andrade) Moore

Bernice passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at home. Bernice was born on April 18, 1935 in San Jose, California to Joseph and Rose Andrade. She graduated from Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, California. In 1951 Bernice met Dick Moore and the two were inseparable from that point on. They were married in 1954 in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Turlock in 1957 and bought their first home.

Bernice was a compassionate and caring person. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Her first job in Turlock was working in the office of Harold Logsdon.

Bernice worked a variety of part-time jobs at Julien School for 12 years, mostly in the office. She then worked for Dean’s Floral until her retirement. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army for many years and was a member of the Red Hats Society. Bernice loved to travel to Tucson, San Diego, Santa Cruz, Hawaii and Alaska. Recently her favorite place to visit was Capitola, 3-4 times a year. Her favorite trips were the visits to Disneyworld in Florida with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Bernice was passionate about arts and crafts and loved spending her time tole painting, stitching and many other craft projects she made for her home

and to share with her family. She was constantly working on projects until her eyes and hands did not allow it.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Andrade. She is survived by her husband Dick Moore of 69 years, her children Christal Wise and Steve Moore, grandchildren April Thompson, Jamie (Paul) Nevin and Jenny (Sam) Woods, and her great

grandchildren Phoebe Woods, Makayla and Levi Thompson. She is also survived by her brother

David (Gerri) Andrade and niece and nephew Debbie (George) Megenney and Michael (Suzy) Andrade. She will be laid to rest with graveside services at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 11:30a.m.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com.
