Betty was born in Roundup, Montana and moved with her family to California. From the age of three, they lived in Sonora until moving to Turlock when Betty started high school. After graduating from Turlock High, she went to U.C. Berkeley, where she majored in French. She was a brilliant student, but before completing her college education, she married her long-time love, Bob Davies.

When Bob returned home from his service, after completing 65 missions as a tail gunner with the 9th Division Air Force, they bought a house on E. Main St. in Turlock. Together they raised their four daughters until Bob’s death in Dec. 1966. Betty soon went to work for Patton Music Co. for about a year, and then for Bank of America, where she remained until her retirement.

In 1971, she married John Guy, a life-long friend of both Bob and Betty’s. John had two young daughters, so there were now six girls for them to contend with. We have all remained close until John’s death in 2016.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Pearl Kregness; her brother, Rae Kregness; sister, Louise Ahern; husband, Bob Davies; daughter, Janis Davies Martin; and her husband, John Guy. She is survived by her daughters, Paige Davies Crowell, Jeanne (Gilles) Boulet and Phyllis (Duane) Nelson; step-daughters, Robin (Jim) Reape and Heather (Lisa) Guy; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and now she rests safe and secure in His loving arms.

Thank you to the most caring and compassionate staff at Cypress Living and to the Hospice team that made the end-of-life transition so much easier.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. A private interment will be held for Betty’s family at a later date.
