Born in Neosho, Mo., Bud moved to Porterville, Calif. in 1947. Shortly after, he and his family settled in Hilmar where he graduated from Hilmar High with the class of 1952.
Bud married his best friend and love, Agnes Lytle, 56 years ago and they raised four children. He worked for Foster Farms, later as a self-employed painting contractor, and he retired after 25 years as a canal tender for Turlock Irrigation District.
He enjoyed family gatherings, planting a garden, making his own salsa, and baking his renowned persimmon cookies. He also helped out every Tuesday at the Turlock Flea Market. Bud loved people.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes; children, Diane McDaniel, Vickey Land, Michael Land and Tami (Ken) Anderson; grandchildren, Jeremy (Brooke) Plaa, April (Andy) Walker, Jennifer Land, Jacqueline Prada and Niles Anderson; great-grandchildren, Braden, Tanner, and Jenna Plaa, Drew and Nolan Walker, Emmerson Parreira and Benjamin Lora; and siblings, Charles (Connie) Land, Caroll (Gayle) Land, Sharon (Jim) Shute and Ron (Susan) Land.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Bernice Land; three brothers; and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, Jan. 15 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. Private interment will take place at Turlock Memorial Park.
