Carmen Sanchez Ruiz, 85, of Turlock passed away on Dec. 26, 2010 in Hughson.

She was born in Riverside, Calif. and worked on the assembly line at an electronics company.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock and enjoyed raising her grandchildren and spending time with family.

She is survived by sons, Frank Ruiz, Jr. and his wife, Sincha of Klamath Falls, Ore., Lawrence Ruiz and his wife, Lorita of Fernley, Nev., Raul Ruiz and his wife, Fraulina of Lodi and Paul Ruiz and his wife, Cynthia of Turlock; daughters, Yolanda Sharma of Turlock, Stella Butron and her husband, Richard of Sacramento, Patricia Ruiz and her husband, Charles Nardi; brother, Tony Sanchez of San Jose; sisters, Lupe Jimenez of Fresno, Cruz Palmerin, Delores Zamora, Annie Contreras and Jennie Zamora, all of Riverside; 16 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Frank Diaz Ruiz in 2005; grandson, Frak Choe Ruiz; three brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 West Main St., Turlock. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, also at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. It will be officiated by Sister Christina Doona. A  Mass is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons St., Turlock. It will be officiated by Father Mark Wagner. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
