Christopher Bell, 80, of Turlock passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Saturday, Jan. 1. He was born in Shanghai, China to Joseph and Nellie Bell in 1930. During WW II, Chris’ family was captured in Shanghai and put in an internment camp. When Chris was 12, his family was brought to Detroit, Mich. through a POW exchange program. Shortly after coming to the United States, his family moved to San Jose, Calif. Chris worked for Lockheed Martin for 21 years before retiring in 1990. He lived in Pine Mountain from 1990 until 2002, when he settled in Turlock. Chris attended the Catholic Church and was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed Judo, fishing, hunting and photography. He loved to tell jokes.

Chris is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Bell; children, Joanne Bell, Christopher Bell, Jr., Jeffrey Bell, Robert Bell and Renee Bell; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and eight siblings. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Mortuary. A Rosary/memorial Mass will be said at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10 at All Saints Catholic Church in Turlock. A private inurnment will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Oak Flats, Calif.
