Danny L. Petty, 62, passed away Saturday at home surrounded by his family.
Danny was born May 25, 1948 in San Bernardino, Calif. to J.W. and Vera Petty. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1972.After the service he lived in the Los Angeles area. Danny married his wife Virginia Martinez in 1973, and they settled in Turlock in 1974. He worked for the Denair Unified School District for nine years. He enjoyed his RV and taking camping and fishing trips with his wife.He is survived by his wife, Virginia Petty of Turlock; children, Connie (Scott) Miguel of Wisconsin and Leland (Heather) Bacon of Turlock; mother, Vera Langdon of Nevada; brothers, Kenneth Bailey of Ceres, Casey Petty of Nevada and Jerry Petty of Texas; and sister, Jennifer Robbs of Nevada. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Derek, Nicholas, Jordan and Vanessa Miguel, and Nathan and Heath Bacon. A military service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16 at San Joaquin Valley Veterans Cemetery in Santa Nella, Calif.
