Denia Rocha Machado, 76, of Livingston, passed away at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson after a brief battle with cancer on April 9, surrounded by her family. She was born in Terceira, Azores in 1933. She married John Machado in 1950, and had seven children. The family then immigrated to Livingston in 1968. She loved children, and for several years she cared for various children in her home. She also helped to raise her 15 grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and would always be found in the kitchen. Her life was dedicated to her family. She was the epitome of a mother and she provided love and strength to us all. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her seven children, Mary Sousa, John Machado, Albert Machado, Grace Chambers, Dina Texeira, Rui Machado and Paul Machado; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sisters, Laudina Alves and Analia Lima.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Machado.
Viewing begins at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., with a rosary to follow at 8 p.m.  A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock.
