Diane Josephine Box, 80, went to be with the Lord in Heaven, on August 9th 2017.

She was born in Berkeley, California on October 24, 1936 to Joseph and Mable Elston.  She was raised in Turlock, CA and graduated from Turlock High School, where she meant her husband James Thomas Box. They were married in Turlock on April 7th and moved to Monterey where James had a contracting career.

In her years out of HS she was a cosmetologist.  Years later she became a School Cafeteria Manager for 30 years in the Monterey District. She retired and moved back to Turlock in 2002. 

She loved to sew, bake, work in her yard with many flowers and spend time with family.

The most important thing in her life though was her relationship with the Lord.  She taught Sunday school for years, had Good News Club in her home, sang in the choir and was very involved with many other ministries in the church. She was part of Calvary Baptist Church in Marina, Ca for many years. After retirement she moved to back to Turlock, where she became involved in Calvary Baptist.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James, parents - Joseph and Mable and brother Joseph.

She is survived by her daughter Charlotte and her husband David Dabulewicz; son Kelvin and his wife Kathy Box; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and her 2 sisters Mable Matson and Myrtle Lindman; along with many other nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 700 E. Monte 

Vista, Turlock, on Saturday, August 19th, at 11:00am. Luncheon to follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be sent to the ministry of Calvary Baptist Church of Turlock or Covenant Care Hospice in Turlock.
