Diane Marie Vasconcellos, 67, of Turlock, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at her home.

Diane was born in Turlock to Harry and Margaret Vasconcellos and lived in the Turlock/Denair area all of her life.  She graduated from Denair High School in 1967 and maintained close ties to her fellow classmates all through the years.

Diane was a “people person” and loved being involved in the community, meeting people and developing friendships.  She worked for Turlock Unified School District in the payroll department for 30 years where she enjoyed assisting employees and teachers from throughout the school district.

As a member of the Turlock Radio Club, Diane served as secretary for many years.  Diane was a vintage car and tractor enthusiast.  She loved showing her 1958 Pontiac at local car events and drove it at Graffiti Night. Her interest in family history kept her continually gathering photos and information regarding her ancestry and Portuguese heritage and she was always eager to share it with family.  Traveling was one of her joys and her favorite destinations were the Azores Islands and Monterey Peninsula.

Diane is survived by her sister, Barbara Vieira (Tim), brother, Steve Vasconcellos (Bobbie), nieces and nephews, Kristin Vieira Massetti (Patrick), Robert Vieira (Kate), Derrick Marquis, Jennifer Carterette (Brian), and ten grand nieces and nephews.

Diane was an inspiration to all and known for her warm and friendly personality, positive attitude, and independent spirit. Her generosity, thoughtfulness and genuine interest in others always made everyone feel special.  She was much loved and will be greatly missed by many.
