Donna Bartholomew, 74, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center. Donna was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to Arthur Elmer "George" and Abigail Elizabeth Tessmer. She grew up and attended schools in Wisconsin before the family moved to Vallejo, CA in 1953. She graduated from Armijo High School in Fairfield. In September of 1957 she married John Bartholomew and they had three children during their 18 years of marriage before his death in 1975. In October of 1979 she married Nelson Woodside of Ann Arbor, MI and resided there for 19 years before his passing in 1998. After Nelson's death she returned to CA.

Through the years Donna has been a homemaker. She cooked and baked and maintained their home in order to provide a welcome place for her family and friends. She loved her family and especially loved being a grandma to her 5 grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and maintained a beautiful flower garden. She also made time to be an active part of the Emanuel Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered her time for over 10 years and served as Auxiliary President from 2006 - 2010.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and by a sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Shirley Adams. She is survived by three children: Arthur (and Sheryl) Bartholomew of Turlock, Tina Bartholomew (and Loren Westfall) of Grand Rapids, MI, and Demetria Kelly of Fairfield, CA; brother Robert (and JoAnn) Tessmer of Mt. Shasta, CA; 5 grandchildren: Nicholas and Kyle Bartholomew, Jacob and Ethan Frederick, and Victoria Kelly; and nieces and nephew: Melissa Woods, Melinda Ortiz, Robert Tessmer, and Lori Cardwell.

There will be a celebration of her life on Thursday, Feb. 23rd at her home in Turlock, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
