Dorothy M. Silva, 93 of Modesto passed away on Jan. 12, 2014.  She was born in Oakland on July 16, 1920 and spent most of her life living there.  In 2000, she relocated to Turlock and then recently to Modesto. Dorothy was a homemaker and was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 2009 and an infant son, Ronald in 1942. She is survived by her children, Dennis Silva and Sandy Van Meter, her grandchildren, Dan Silva, Brian Silva, Denise Lorentzen, Tim Silva and Rick Van Meter. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Nick Lorentzen, Megan Silva, Caitlin Lorentzen and Ashley Silva. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 6:00PM on Thursday, Jan. 16 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. in Turlock.  A funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, Jan. 17 also at Turlock Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
