Elsie Marie Carlson, 79, passed away at Brandel Transitional Nursing Center in Turlock on Aug. 6. Elsie was born in Ferndale to Joseph and Angelina Ferreira. She attended Orland Joint Union Elementary School and Del Puerto (Patterson) High School. She married William on Feb. 24, 1962 and moved to Delhi where they farmed grapes and almonds. She was a member of the Turlock Friendship Club and an active member of the St. Jude Catholic Parish in Livingston. She loved shopping, manicures, and spoiling her granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband, William D. Carlson; son, Stephen (Carmen) Silva of Delhi; granddaughter, Ally Silva of Delhi; and sisters, Belmira Medina of Woodland and Olivia Bellani of Walnut Creek. She also leaves behind nine nieces, seven nephews, 39 great nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joseph Jr.; sister, Barbara; and her first husband, Francis Silva.
Her family would like to thank Brandel Transitional Nursing Center’s nursing staff for their excellent care and dignity shown to Elsie during her last days.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Emanuel, 825 Delbon Ave., Turlock.
Rosary and Mass combination will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at the St. Jude Catholic Church, 330 Francis St., Livingston, followed by a graveside service at Turlock Memorial Park.
