Emma (Erma) Warda Morris, 83, passed away on Monday. She was born in San Francisco to Saul and Zevy Warda and graduated from Hughson High School and San Francisco State University. She taught school for over 50 years, mostly in Turlock. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Assyrian American Club of Turlock, and the California Retired Teachers Association.
Emma is survived by daughters, Marie A. Bauckman and her husband, Thomas, of Virginia Beach, Va., Mona L. Kreiter and her husband, Jeffrey, of Kingsburg, and Michelle E. Swift and her husband, John, of Live Oak. She is also survived by granddaughters, Sarah (Bauckman) Lathan and her husband, William, Alexandra and Leigha Bauckman, Hunter Kreiter, and Emma and Grace Swift. She also leaves three sisters. Interment is private and a memorial service is planned for a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emma’s memory to USO.org.
