Frederick (Fred) R Leach, passed away on November 16, at the age of 87. He was born November 17, 1933, in Kalispell Montana. One day shy of his 88th birthday.

He was best known as the larger-than-life Mr. Leach, the wood shop teacher at Brown School/Turlock Junior High, where he taught there for 27 years. 

He was a Korea War Vet, coming back from the war he used the GI bill to get his BA degree in Industrial Arts from Montana State University, Bozman. His first teaching job was in Geraldine Montana, where he met his wife, Patricia Mayo. They were married in 1961 and moved to Cutbank Montana where he taught for another 3 years. In 1962 their son was born. In 1964 they moved to California, so that he could start his new teaching position as a wood shop teacher in Turlock at Brown School. During the first few years of teaching, he continued his education receiving a master’s degree in Education from Montana State University, Bozman in 1966. Also, that year their daughter was born. He taught a total of 32 years. He was also a Blue Diamond Almond grower for the past 44 years.

He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Leach. His son Scott Leach of Denair California and his daughter Julie (John) Brandt of Lincoln California. He has seven grandchildren, Kerrilyn, Samuel, Patrick, Erin, Emalie, Rachel, William and one great grandchild Lucas. His sister Arlete (Paul) Bolduan of Minnesota.

Memorial Service will be December 8, 2021, at 2 pm at the Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson California.
