R. Gerald Bonander, 95, of Turlock, passed away peacefully with his loving wife and family by his side. Gerald was born in Kingsburg, CA to Joseph and Esther Bonander, one of seven children. He graduated from Livingston High School in 1938. In June of 1947 he married Atha Burch. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a peach grower in Merced County for 75 years. Gerald was a true gentleman, a member of the Crossroads Church, Gideons Int’l, and a part of the evangelism teams for several years. He loved the Lord, the church, and his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

  Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Emory Bonander of Turlock and Merril Bonander of Kingsburg. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Atha Bonander, their five children: Ron Bonander of Turlock, Randy (Sandy) Bonander of Modesto, Richard (Sue) Bonander of Turlock, Jerry (Karen) Bonander of Hughson, and Aleece Stillman of Knoxville, TN; siblings: Dr. Gordon Bonander, Shirley Kaubish, Paul Bonander, and Shilloy Hollingsworth; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. 

  Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Monday, November 9th from 5 to 8 pm. Private burial will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, November 10th, 1:30 pm, at Crossroads Church, 1360 N. Johnson Road, in Turlock. Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
