Irvin Alfred Klaschus was born in Superior, Wis. to Frank and Anna Klaschus. As a young adult he completed his education and received a master’s degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served in the U.S. Army from March 12, 1942 – Feb. 5, 1946. In 1961, he married Norma Dahlgren and they just celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 31 of this year. Irvin taught at various schools including Jackson, Mich., Madison, Wis. and retired from Turlock High School after 17 years.

He also enjoyed playing music for people in assisted living facilities. He was a member of VFW, Gideon’s International and Monte Vista Chapel.

Irvin is survived by his wife, Norma Klaschus; son, Irvin R. Klaschus; step son, Daniel Repke; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank and Bob Klaschus; and step son, Jerry Repke.

Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 at Allen Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13 at Monte Vista Chapel. Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.
