Dr. Jacob Holtzman, 95, passed away Thursday, Aug. 12 at Kaiser Hospital in Modesto. He was born in Chicago, Denver, Colo. in raised. and graduated from Colorado State at Fort Collins, Colo., where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Jacob trained many veterinarians in his 70-year career as a DVM. He served from 1942 to 1946 in the United States Army during World War II. He was a charter member and served two terms as president at the Modesto Camellia Club, he was also a member of the Patterson Garden Club, 50 more club, and the Forever Young Dance Club. Jacob taught diving to the 4 - H club and at the local pool. He was an avid gardener and an heirloom seed saver. He also loved dancing, Big Band music, and playing the clarinet. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Holtzman of Crows Landing; daughters, Margaret (Charles) Tracy of Modesto, Becky (Dan) Parker of Modesto, and Lenora Boeddiker of San Jose. Jacob also leaves behind grandchildren, and Jonathan Boeddiker Amanda and Bradley Parker and Michael. In place of flowers, you may donate to your favorite charity in Jacob ' s memory.
