John was born in Downers Grove, IL and passed away at the age of 79.  He served in the National Guard and worked in construction for over 50 years.  He took great pride in working and also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

John is survived by his daughter and son in law Tyra and Mark Jensen and his son John Paul Kohut; sisters Cathy Nelson and Anne Kohut, brothers Pete and James Kohut; grandchildren Brandee, Kristy and Nina; great grandchildren Alex, Isac, Miles and Quentin.  He was preceded in death by his wife Clara Marie Kohut; parents Andrew and Irma Kohut; and siblings Joe Kohut and Margaret Garcia.
