Johnny was promoted to glory on Jan 11, 2018, at the age of 66, after a long battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lonna Sisney, 3 children, Shawn Sisney, Trena Sisney, Quenton Keith Sisney and the proud “Papa” to 6 grandchildren, Kimberly, Courtney, Christian, Shawn Paul, Kalei and Austin, 4 great grandchildren, Amya, Violet, Chloe, Autum Rose and 1 sister, Rosemary McDanial Lawson.

Johnny was born in Dinuba, CA to George and Thresa Sisney. Johnny was proud of his heritage as a son of migrant fruit workers and enjoyed sharing stories with all who would listen. Johnny lived most of his adult life in Waterford, CA and later he settled in Turlock, CA. Johnny received an honorable discharge from the Army in 1982, where he became a skilled trac mechanic. His occupations included journeyman millwright, skilled craftsman, mechanic, laborer, but his most favorite job was working as a gardener at Covenant Village of Turlock where he cherished each friendship and the daily interaction with the residents whom resided there. He would say what could be better than taking care of what God has created, whether it be man or plant. He was proud to be a Salvation Army soldier and was very active at the Turlock Salvation Army Church on Lander Ave., he served on the visitation committee was Recruiting Sargent, Sunday School Teacher and mentor. Participating in Sunday worship, bible study, men’s fellowship, serving food for the homeless. He loved his church and church family and never missed an opportunity to share God’s word.

His service will be held on Feb. 10th, 2pm at the Salvation Army Corp., 893 Lander Ave., Turlock CA 95380
