Jose G. Ferreira, 97, of Modesto, passed away on May 14, 2011, in Modesto.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1913, in Serreta, Terceira, Azores and was an iron founder with metal for 25 years. He was a member of Shrine Our Lady of Miracles in Gustine and P.F.S.A. of Gustine.

He is survived by son, Urbin D. Ferreira and his wife, Elzira, of Gustine; grandchildren, Dan Ferreira and Doreen Alexander; and great grandchildren, Dylan Ferreira, Deonna Ferreira, Bianca Hanson and Candace Hanson. He was preceded in death by his wife.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 22 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel, in Turlock. A Rosary/Vigil/Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 23 at Shrine Our Lady of Miracles,370 Linden Ave., Gustine.  It will be officiated by Father Leonard Trindade.  Burial will be at  Hills Ferry Cemetery District.
