After a short bout with cancer, Kathie, age 63, died at home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Marge Johnson. Kathie is survived by her husband of 45 years Burt, her son Randy Lindquist of Turlock, her daughter Lorie (Phil) Wagner of Denair, and grandchildren Taryn and Caden Lindquist, Peter and Paul Wagner. Kathie is also survived by her two brothers, Jim (Cindy) Johnson of Elk, CA and Bob (Sandi) Johnson of Concord, CA. Kathie was always very proud of her family.
Kathie was born and raised in Turlock, CA. She attended Turlock High School (Class of ‘63), Fresno State University earning her degree in Social Work, and finally St. Mary's College for her Masters degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.
Kathie loved the Lord. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was president of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League for the California, Nevada and Hawaii (CNH) district. She was also on the Board of Directors for the CNH District of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. She was involved with Girl Scouts, she counseled at-risk teenage girls in inner-city schools, taught Bible study at her church, and was also a volunteer at the Gallo Center in Modesto, CA.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will begin at 9am followed by a graveside service at 10am on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Turlock Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00noon at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Turlock. Memorial contributions can made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 640 N. Minaret, Turlock, Ca. 95380.
