Kenneth Kenny Kollmeyer
March 1948 May 2010
Kollmeyer
Kenneth Carl Kollmeyer, 62, beloved son and brother, died Sunday in Turlock following a short illness. Born in Salinas, he was a lifelong resident of Ceres. He lived on the farm established and revered by his parents, Bernard Henry Kollmeyer of Buhl, Idaho (deceased), and Marie Kollmeyer of Concordia, Kansas.
Kenny is survived by his mother; brothers, Joe Kollmeyer of Waterford, Bruce Kollmeyer of Tracy, Kevin Kollmeyer of Turlock, Charlie Kollmeyer of Seattle, Wash. and Mark Kollmeyer; and sisters, Jean Boicelli of Turlock, Lucia Cretti of Montrose, Colo., Mary Jane Jennings of Visalia and Cathy Petersen of Fremont. In addition, a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews mourn his loss and will miss his simple humor and adoration.
Kenny loved Giants baseball and had a steel-trap mind for reciting wins and losses, batting averages and RBIs as quickly as family birthdays and anniversaries. Bowling was another passion, but nothing compared to his joy of driving himself to Reno two or three times a year to play slot-machine poker. Will any of us forget his “Double Nickels” casino party celebrating his 55th?
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 7 at Allen Mortuary in Turlock. A reception will follow at the family farm.
Memorial donations can be made to Miller’s Place, Doctors Medical Foundation, 730 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA 95350.
