Larry B. Peterson born April 1927 of Hilmar, California passed away Wednesday. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Amy Peterson of Hilmar. He attended Hilmar Schools, graduating in 1945 from Hilmar High School. After High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served 2 years in the Phillippines. At the end of his service duties, he returned to Hilmar and started working with his father in the dairy business which he continued to do along with farming almonds until his death. He married Marilyn Hughes in 1948, his wife of 63 years. He leaves his sons, Randy (Diane), Mike (Pam) Peterson of Hilmar and a son, Marc of Oak Park, CA. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Tricia (Matt) Burnham, Tracy, Nick, Craig and Katie Peterson and 3 great grandchildren McKenna, Ava, and Travis Burnham. He also is survived by a brother, Wesley (Phyllis) Peterson of Hilmar. The Family would like to thank his caregiver, Lenore Stuckey. He will also be missed by his beloved dog, Freckles.
He was a member of Hilmar Covenant Church, Turlock Golf and Country Club, Blue Diamond Almond Growers, Livingston Farmer's Association and Hilmar Fire Department. He loved playing golf four days of the week until becoming ill. His humorous personality and larger than life presence will be missed by all that knew him.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011, 9:30am at North Hilmar Cemetery.
