Louis Nunes Terra, 86, of Turlock, entered into rest on Monday. He was born in 1925 in Pedro Miguel Faial, Azores. 

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock, past president of Our Lady of Fatima in 1975 and 1981, and a member of P.F.S.A. Council 26 of Hilmar/Stevinson/Turlock.  He immigrated to the United States in 1961, settled in Turlock and lived there ever since. He had a passion for gardening and his animals and he was a Eucharist Minister for Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maria Terra of Turlock; daughters, Mary Oliveira and her husband, Alan, of Hilmar and Bernadette Vieira and her husband, Jorge, of Hilmar; daughter-in-law, Lori Terra of Ripon; and grandchildren, A.J. Oliveira, Christopher Oliveira, James Oliveira, Aimee Oliveira, Andrew Vieira, Ryan Vieira, Eric Terra, Brian Terra and Julie Terra.

He was preceded in death by his son, Louis F. Terra, in 2003. 

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel of Turlock. Rosary/Vigil/Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons St., Turlock. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
