Marian Ciriscioli, 90, of Turlock passed away January 24, 2015 surrounded by her loving

family.  She was born to Edith and Frank Echeberry of Marysville, California in Marchof 1924.  Marian went to Marysville High School and Mercy College of Nursing.

Marian began her life-time devotion to community service and arts education

at an early age through various public relations jobs for California state assemblymen and senators.

Her fundraising career developed as a result of those experiences and those as a staff and press release writer for local newspapers and National Arts magazines.  Marian made significant contributions during her life to the establishment and development of local and national organizations supporting all types of art expressions.  She was deeply devoted to education and consistently worked to promote affordable education for both children and adults.  She practiced what she preached and served on the Board of Trustees of Merced Junior College for many years. 

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Tony in 1996, and is survived by her daughter

Mary Alice Nelson (Knute), son Peter Ciriscioli (Sandra); grandchildren Kirsten Nelson, Tanya Nelson, Margaret Nelson, John Kozak, Jeffrey Kozak; and six great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Marian at All Saints Catholic Church in Turlock, Friday Jan. 30, 2015 at 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of her life at the Carnegie Arts Center.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marian’s name to the Carnegie Arts Foundation for Youth Arts Events, 250 North Broadway Turlock, CA 95380.  Please share your memories at
