Mary Small, 75, of Hilmar, passed away at her home on Oct. 9. A small family memorial gathering and private internment are planned.
Mary was born in December 1933, in Missouri to John and Sarah Stephens. Her father was an itinerant preacher, so the family traveled around as he preached. They moved to California in 1941. Mary was married to LeRoy Small in 1982. Mary and LeRoy loved the mountains, fishing and camping. She was also known as a great cook. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and lovingly remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy; daughters, Marilyn Campidonica of Hilmar, Beverly Berry of Oakhurst, Norma (David) McIntyre of Turlock and MaryAnn Smith of Turlock; sons, Vernon Dale (Sherri) of Cherry Hill, Calif., Mike Amos of Idaho, Gary (Diane) Amos of Idaho, Ron (Joice) Amos of New Era, Mich. and Roger Amos of Turlock; sisters, Louise (Bill) Freeman of McKinleyville, Calif., Neva Cooper of Fontana, Calif. and Kay Crosby of Turlock; brothers, Curtis (Pam) Stephens of Merced and Tony Freeman of McKinleyville, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
