Mary Pereira, 86, of Turlock, passed away at Elness Convalescent Hospital on Wednesday.  Mary was born in Hughson  to Casmiro and Arminda Espinola. She grew up in Hughson until her marriage to Marion Pereira in 1947. At that time they moved to Turlock. They have been members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was active in the Young Ladies Institute and the Sacred Heart Mothers’ Guild. In addition to her homemaking, Mary enjoyed gardening and needlework. Her family has been a vital part of her life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Marion Pereira of Turlock; daughter, Karen (Mike) Dellis of Ahwahnee, Calif.; son, Michael (Wendy) Pereira of Turlock; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Stanley Alan Pereira in 2005.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at Allen Mortuary,  with the recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
