Melvin Walker, 63, of Tehachapi, died Nov. 21 in Tehachapi. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Melvin was born in Turlock in 1946. He graduated from Turlock High School. He was a carpenter for 30 years, and a member of the Dunkard Brethren Church of Modesto. He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Walker of Mansfield, Mo.; daughters, Michelle Griffith of El Dorado, Kansas and Annetta Long of Long Lane, Mo.; brothers, Eugene Walker of Ceres and Henry Walker of Waterford; and one granddaughter, Courtney.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Walker and Oliver “Bob” Walker in 2006.
